Tottenham Hotspur’s striker pursuit has taken a new twist on Deadline Day and it has left fans fuming.
It has been revealed that the club held talks with Shanghai Shenhua striker Odion Ighalo as chairman Daniel Levy desperately seeks a new forward to bolster Jose Mourinho’s playing squad.

However, he’s not expected to become a Spurs player and instead, is set to join Premier League rivals Manchester United on a six-month loan deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Mass reaction has been sparked on Twitter as a result, here’s what has been said…
“Absolute farce” and “pointless” were two words used to describe the latest update, and it didn’t take long for fans to take fire at chairman Daniel Levy with one supporter calling the situation “embarrassing.”
It didn’t stop there either…
Another fan joked that the club would be taking calls from teams in the MLS over a new striker because that’s how desperate they were getting while Levy was called a “bald eagle” by one member of the Spurs faithful, who added that it would be amazing to see him leave the club.
Even chief scout Steve Hitchin took criticism as he was labelled as a “disaster.”
It now means that Spurs have missed out on pretty much every deadline day target – Olivier Giroud is remaining at Chelsea, Willian Jose stays at Real Sociedad and even the likes of Ismail Slimani and Porto’s Ze Luis became non-runners according to Alasdair Gold.
