The Botafogo forward has scored five Serie A goals in 13 matches since joining the club from the United Arab Emirates. Endrick, meanwhile, has two goals from nine games for Real Madrid following his long-awaited move from Palmeiras. The teenager has, however, started just one game in all competitions.
WHAT DORIVAL SAID
The Brazil boss explained his decision at a press conference, saying: "Endrick is still trying to get to know his club, his moment, arriving at the biggest club in world football, having a lot of competition, but still being able to make his point.
"It’s a matter of finding that moment for him in the team. I think that for this moment, Igor’s own experience and moment is a little different. Who knows, it might be important to have players with that profile for a game of this size."
AFPWHAT NEXT FOR ENDRICK?
Endrick already has 11 caps under his belt but has started just two of those. He will hope to make an impact from the bench to help his country amid their disappointing qualifying campaign.
