The previous quickest was Kedar Jadhav, who got his first century in his fourth innings, against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2015. This was only India’s second win at the venue against Australia, though they have registered three wins against other teams here.2014 The last time Australia lost an ODI at home before this game. They lost to South Africa at the WACA on November 16, 2014 and were unbeaten since then in 19 matches, which is the record for the longest unbeaten streak at home by any team in ODIs.3159 Total runs scored in this five-match ODI series – the most in any bilateral ODI series of five or fewer matches. It surpassed the aggregate in the 2015 series between New Zealand and England, when 3151 runs were scored.282 The previous highest target successfully chased in ODIs against Australia in Australia. This is the second-most tons to have come in defeats in any ODI series or tournament. The 2015 World Cup, where 48 matches were played, had nine centuries in defeats. There have not been more than four centuries in defeats in any bilateral ODI series before.11 Centuries scored in this series – the most in any bilateral series. No triangular or quadrangular series has had more than ten centuries made. Also, there were 11 century partnerships in this series, the joint-most in a bilateral series. The 2013-14 series between these two sides also had 11 such stands.8 Totals of 300 or more in this series – the second-most in any bilateral ODI series. The 2013-14 series between the two teams in India had nine such totals.80 Balls required by Pandey to complete his century in this match – the third-quickest in ODIs at the SCG. The two fastest came during last year’s World Cup – In 51 balls by Glenn Maxwell against Sri Lanka and in 52 balls by AB de Villiers against West Indies. In the first innings, Mitchell Marsh completed his century in 81 balls, the fourth-quickest at the SCG.2 Number of times Rohit Sharma has aggregated over 400 runs in a bilateral ODI series. He scored 441 runs in this series and had made 491 runs against the same opposition in the 2013-14 seven-match ODI series. Hashim Amla is the only other batsman to do it twice: 402 in 2010 and 413 in 2014-15.
