Tottenham Hotspur earned a vital three points in the race for a top-four spot with a 3-2 win at Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
An early Dejan Kulusevski opener and a brace from Harry Kane were enough to give Antonio Conte’s team all three points at the Etihad Stadium, after they were pegged back twice by Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez from the penalty spot.

However, while there were some battling performances in a Spurs shirt, some players did struggle at times against the reigning champions, and The Transfer Tavern have used statistical experts SofaScore to now analyse who the three worst performers (to have played at least 45 minutes) were for the away side on the day:
Eric Dier – 6.3
With a 6.3 overall rating, Dier was ranked as the North London club’s third-worst player.
The Englishman failed to make any tackles or interceptions, or block any of the shots on his goal, while he was also guilty of losing possession of the ball ten times in total.
Ryan Sessegnon – 6.2
Sessegnon was ranked as the second-worst player with a 6.2 rating.
Filling in for the unavailable Sergio Reguilon, the left wing-back lost six of his duels, one of the highest in the Lilywhites’ side, while he made no successful dribbles, blocked shots or interceptions.
Sessegnon also lost the ball on no fewer than on 14 separate occasions in the match, the most out of any of his teammates.
Hugo Lloris – 5.8
Perhaps unsurprisingly, despite a great save to deny Gundogan in the second half, Lloris was ranked as the worst player with a mere 5.8 rating.
The captain made an error that led to City’s first goal, parrying the cross from Raheem Sterling straight into the path of Gundogan, while he also gave the ball away nine times, and only managed two saves in total.
